Mensagem das Câmaras Municipais do Continente, Ilhas e Ultramar ao Presidente do Conselho de Ministros Professor Doutor Oliveira Salazar - Lisboa, 31 de Maio de 1958
SALAZAR - [António de Oliveira Salazar (1889-1970)].- [Manuscrito]. Século XX (31 de Maio de 1958).- 4 f. (+ 3 f. em branco]; 36 cm.- E. Manuscript on parchement, illuminated (on the fron page) and caligraphed. The message of loyalty and recognition, occupies the first four pages of the document and is subscribed by Álvaro Salvação Barreto, Mayor of Lisbon (1944-1959) «em representação de todas as Câmaras Municipais do Continente, Ilhas e Ultramar». Followed by a leaf with the signatures of the Councellor of Lisbon and another one with about to dozen other signatures of many other Mayors of other municipalities. A set accompanied by photograph of Salazer and of a clip alluding to the deliver of the document, has entire black chagrin bionding (signed Frederico d’Almeida), slightly handled with gold inscription and manueline decoration on the upper plan.

Palácio Teles de Meneses (Alfredo da Cunha - São Vicente)
PALACE Teles de Meneses (Alfredo da Cunha - São Vicente), in S. Vicente Square, Lisbon.- 18th/10th centuries. 1 portfolio with documents. The Palace Teles de Meneses, also known as the Palace Alfredo da Cunha or the Palace of São Vicente, whose primitive construction dates fro the 17th century, was purchased in 1906, by businessman, journalist and writor Alfredo da Cunha (1863-1942), to the Marquis of Funchal, which has purchased it in 1902 to the heirs of the Teles de Meneses family. Under the new ownership the Palace was fully refurbished by architect Nicola Bigaglia. Assembly constituted by the following documents: 1 - Folder with 15 documents (invoices, letters and budgets) of Empreza Eléctrica H.B.C. concerning electrification. 2 – Volume 9 of Inventory of Lisbon, by Noberto de Araújo (Lisbon, CML, 1952), containing a short historic description of the palace. 3 – A greaseproof architectural design and an ozalid plan. 4 – Marriage and dowery contract between D. Mariana Catarina de Noronha and Gonçalo Vieira da Silva Telles. Document dated Octobre 2, 1824. 5 – Three transcripts in public form, of notarial deeds of sale, dated Novembre 19, 1902 (sale),May 2, 1906 and Decembre 31, 1906. 6 – 7 notarial certificates dated 1902 and 1903 7 – 12 sheets with drafts of texts pertaining to a "search" to the home of Dr. Alfredo da Cunha, fundamented on a so-called political meeting in favour of movement headed by Paiva Couceiro (October 1910?). 8 - A stitched notebook containing four titles, deeds and transcriptsof my «minhas Cazas Grandes junto ao mosteiro de S. Vicente de For a desta cidade», respectivelly 1669 (16, 15 f.), 1686 (15 f.), 1734 (17 f.) and 1758 (6 f.). 9 – A copy containing documents of property contributions (forms), drafts, invoices, etc., concerning the years of 1906 and 1907. 10 – A policy from the Insurance Company Fidelidade, dated Novembre 20, 1902. 11 – A certificate of a donation deed, dated July 26, 1847. 12 – 14 photographs of the interior of the palace (billiard room, living room, dinner room, theatre, group photo, etc.); 5 small photographs with play characters; 1 photograph of a tile panel; 1 photograph of the funeral of King D. Carlos I and of Crown Prince D. Luís Filipe. 13 – 4 copies of the same programme, dated April 2, 1910: plays, monologue, serenade of Coimbra, etc.; 6 copies of “Serenata de Coimbra” by Alfredo da Cunha (bifolios). 14 – Several printed cards and other documents of difficult discrimination. 15 – Testament of Alfredo da Cunha (1863-1942), dated from Lisbon, September 14, 1938.

ENCADERNAÇÃO com as armas de Portugal.- Diario ecclesiastico para o Reino de Portugal, principalmente para a cidade de Lisboa, para o anno de 1832 / ordenado pela Congregação do Oratorio de Lisboa.- Lisboa: na Impressão Regia, s.d. [1831].- 144 p.: 1 mapa desdobr. color.; 10 cm.- E. Chagrin citron binding of the time with gold decoration plaque samped on both plans, bearing at centre the initial R inscribed in a hexagonal polygon; militar and heraldic motifs framing: banners, blades and fire arms, trumpets, drums etc. On the top margin, two coats of arms inscribed in ovals and at the centre the coat of arms of Portugal upon an armillary sphere. Three coats of arms and one banner were retouched in red ink.. Well preserved upper plan; lower plan with severe central damage to the initial R. Some inside leaves were scissor-clipped.

The Author (1798-1882), French naturalist and painter born in Lyon, remained in Brazil for two years (1858 e 1859) and painted a portrait of the Imperial Family. During his stay, he collected species of animals, insects, reptiles etc. The work is illustrated by 180 woodcut engravings, within the text and separately, performed by Édouard Riou according to originals by the Author. It also includes a folding map of Amazonia. Copy with slight acidity stains. Binding of the time with a slightly fatigued black Morocco spine. Sabi, 5134. Borba de Moraes, Brasiliana, p. 106.

The work by an unidentified author, translated by Henrique de Pradtt, aims to serve as a guide to any respected nobleman and, «com licença de seus pais», wishes to pursue a military career. Illustrated edition with engraved coverpage and 16 engravings subscribed by Juzarte, 10 of them double (two per leaf) and the remaining six on folding leaves. The subscription of the last engraving is particularly interesting: Joaquim António Juzarte Abrio E mora Na travessa Dos ladroins (Ernesto Soares, «História», 1219). A folding engraving with large tear but with no lack of support. Copy slightly handled, entire spotted calf binding of the time. Inocêncio, III, p. 187. Gonçalves Rodrigues (Tradução), 1022.

In addition to the engravings the first volume is illustrated with 22 intaglio vignettes and a bordure at the beginning of the poem Le Lutrin (page 325); the second volume includes 7 vignettes. Cohen, col. 73. Brunet (I, col. 1058): Première édition de luxe que l'on ait donné de ce grand poëte. Elle se recommande et par sa belle éxecution typographique et par d'assez bonnes estampes ou vignettes.Heraldic Ex-libris of D. D. Slightly disjointed copy, entire spotted calf bindings of the time quite fatigued but recoverable with golden leaf cutting; it preserves the original marbled paper guards.
