A PIERRE-PHILIPPE THOMIRE - 1751-1843 gilt and chiselled bronze Fruit basket - Centrepiece “Basket held by three sculptures - Female figures”, Empire, 19th C. (1st quarter), marked, ottom with handwritten inscriptions, ilustrates the cover (lot 731).

Cross-culture
A crossover between Portuguese art and culture and the art and culture, beliefs, traditions, styles and craftsmanship of India, Ceylon, China or Japan, to name just a few countries with which we closely related to since the 16th century.
That is the case of the two very similar, forming practically a pair, 17th C. (2nd half) Indo-Portuguese Cabinets with stands (Lot 595 and 596); as well as the 17th C. (2nd half) Indo-Portuguese ivory sculptures representing “The Lord Jesus Saviour of the World” (lot 581).

Silver and Jewellery
A silver flatware for 12 people with cabinet by renowned Portuguese architect SIZA VIEIRA - NASC. 1933 (lot 917).

Oriental Art
“Emperor” and “Empress” - two 20th (the 50s) Chinese ivory sculptures, engraved decoration with black panting and, exotic wood stand, one measuring 102 cm and 10,5 Kg weight; the other measuring 99,5 cm and 9,8 5 Kg weight (lot 505 and 506).

Armory
A rare Portuguese 18th C. (3rd quarter) hunting rifle by gunmaker BARTOLOMEU GOMES, of which we know no other than the one belonging to the Musée de l'Armée, in Paris; and the other belonging to the Museu Militar, in Lisbon (lot 254).
Particular reference is also due to the relevant set of Portuguese and Foreignfurniture; Chinese and European porcelain; tiles; ancient books and bindings (lots 391 to 450).
