of King D. João V of Portugal inscribed in oval reserve next to the
FrontPage (subcription: Io, Bapta. Sintes Scul.(Giovanni Baptista Sintes
- Ernesto Soares, História, p. 588, which does not mention the portrait); 4
engravings (plants), near pages 24, 52, 151 and 462; 1 folding engraving
(Solemnis equitationis ad Vaticanum incessus), p. 478; 1 folding engraving

(plant and cut), p. 481. At the end, with typographic separator, the
iconographic documentation of the exterior and interior of the Basilica

Baron J. F. de Bourgoing was the pseudonym of Abbot
Charles J. Girod, auhor of this work with so many
inaccuracies but greatly appreciated.
The Edition is illustrated in the first volume with
a folding engraving near the coverpage, representing
the mouth of the Tagus River and the Tower of Belem
and with a map of Portugal. The collation of each
volume is as follows: I - [2], 268 p.; II - [2], 260 p.
Small stain on the outter margin of some leaves and
random notes in French. Slightly disjointed binding
of the time with leather spine. Bernardo Xavier
Coutinho, 675. Not referred by Duarte de Sousa.

mas muito apreciada. A edição é ilustrada no primeiro tomo com uma gravura
desdobrável, junto ao rosto, representando a foz do Tejo e a Torre de Belém, e com
um mapa de Portugal. A colação de cada um dos tomos é a seguinte: I - [2], 268
p.; II - [2], 260 p. Pequena mancha na margem exterior de algumas folhas.
Ocasionais anotações em língua francesa. Encadernação da época, um pouco
