First edition of the Spanish translation of the work by Louis Dussieux (1744-1805), a French writer, historian, and agronomist born in Angoulême, whose original edition dates from 1770. The third chapter is dedicated to the discovery of the Canary Islands and the seventh to Columbus's discovery of America. The remaining chapters recount the discoveries of the Portuguese, especially during the reign of King D. Manuel I, with particular emphasis on the voyages of Vasco da Gama and Pedro Álvares Cabral.
