MANUSCRIPTS.- D. JOÃO I, King of Portugal.- Carta régia de sentença.- 15th century (1410).- 1 f.; 320x345 mm. Manuscript on parchment, in Joanine cursive Gothic script. Letter of judgment addressed to the Civil Judges of the City of Évora, in which king D. João I contradicts their decision on the action brought by Fernão Lopes Lobo and Teresa Eanes, his wife, against Leonor Gonçalves da Silveira, all residents of Évora, who demanded that the defendant hand over to them half of an orchard that she owned jointly with Rui Nunes, a squire, near the Divor river (municipalities of Arraiolos and Coruche), from which they divided the fruits without ever having made any divisions. Leonor Gonçalves da Silveira was acquitted and the authors were ordered to pay the costs. Document dated Santarém, July 14, 1410. Clerk: Afonso Pires. Autograph signatures of Martim Mendes, superjudge, and Álvaro Pires, attorney for the Crown's Affairs. Well preserved document, with two fold creases and holes from a pending seal (missing).
