OCHOA DE LA SALDE, Juan.- PRIMERA PARTE | DE LA CAROLEA | INCHIRIDON, QVE TRATA DE LA | Vida y Hechos del Inuictissimo Emperador Don Carlos | Quinto de este Nombre, y de muchas notables cosas | en ella sucedidas hasta el Año de 1555. | [...] | RECOPILADA EN DOS PARTES POR | Iuan Ochoa de la Salde Prior perpetuo de Sant Iuan | de Letran.- En Lisboa: por Marcos Borges, Antonio Ribero, e Anton Aluarez, 1585.- [5, 1 br.], 451 f.; 29 cm.- E. First and only published part of a work of capital importance for the history of the reign of Charles V, with the information it contains on the voyage of Fernão de Magalhães and the discovery of the Philippines being of particular relevance. The slightly cropped copy, with some browning, shows the first two pages (title and license/privilege) facsimile on old paper, probably using the zinc-engraving process. Some marginal wormholes, with old restorations. Clipping from a bookseller's catalogue pasted onto the free endpaper (describing the same copy). Non-contemporary full parchment binding with the words Ochoa and Inchiridon painted on the spine and half of the two clasps missing. Samodães, 2257 (incomplete). Palau, 198795. BN (16th century), 529. Biblioteca de D. Manuel II, 189.
