Complete set of the post-Tridentine version of the “Breviário Romano”, published on the initiative of Pope Pius V, revised and reformed successively by Clement VIII and Urban VIII. Each of the volumes includes an allegorical frontispiece (identical), copperplat engraved, before the respective typographed title pages that include a beautiful vignette of Paris, with a view over the River Seine. The collation of each of the volumes is as follows. Partie du Printemps: [24], 845, [1 br.], cccl, [2 br.] p.; Partie d'Esté: [26], 890, cccxxvii, [1 br.] p.; Partie de l’Automne: [56], 802, cccxxvii, [1 br.] p.; Partie d’Hyver: [58], 842, cccxliii, [1 br.] p. The four volumes are covered in good contemporary bindings, fully in “vieux rouge” morocco, with “à la Duseuil” decoration on the covers, gilt panels on the spines, roll on the squares and gilt top edge. Joints a little weak; first volume (Printemps) with small damage to the turn in at the top of the spine. All volumes retain the original endpapers on glue paper (paste paper or papier à la colle).
