Initially published in Goa, by João de Endem, in 1563 the work has acquired extensive and immediate impact across Europe, to judge by the numerous editions that came to light before the end of the sixteenth century. This is illustrated with numerous woodcuts figures next to the text, representing plants, flowers, fruits, etc. The second part has its own paging and frontispiece.
