The copy includes a dedication from the author on the half-title page (For Nelson, with whom I feel in the shadow of Gilgamesh...), dated April 2, 1967, Paris (autograph signature: José Saramago). The copy also includes, pasted onto the last endpaper, an autographed poem (Tempo de Cristal), on a sheet of cellophane paper, dated April 2, 1967, pasted at the end of the volume.
