Pedro, Duke of Braganza (1798-1834), in his capacity as Regent of the Kingdom, on behalf of his daughter, D. Maria da Glória, future Queen D. Maria II, being a minor on the date. It is addressed to Gonçalo Caldeira Cardoso Leitão e Albuquerque, administrator of the province of Beira Baixa, entrusting him with the appointment of municipal commissions, given non-existence of legitimately constituted councils. The document is folded and housed in a leather portfolio, dated from Necessidades Palace, May 21, 1834. It retains its original stamp.
