Cristóbal Gómez de Sandoval-Rojas, whose coat of arms is represented on the title page. In the 29 chapters of the work, the author, about whom little is known, describes and comments on the functions and responsibilities of all the different characters in the service of the noble house, namely, servants, butlers, headwaiters, chamberlains, pages, cooks, coachmen, grooms, drapers, viadores, treasurers, etc. Copy slightly trimmed, but generally clean. Ex-libris by Victor d’Avila Perez (lot no. 8180 from the auction held in 1939/40). Contemporary binding, all sheepskin, with some wear.
