The volume, covered in a period morocco half-binding (with new endpapers and gilded edges), belonged to William Beckford's library (The Hamilton Palace Library: Beckford Collection) auctioned in London by Sotheby's in 1882 and it features, on the back cover, a label printed by the buyer, the well-known London bookseller Bernard Quaritch.
