AMÉLIA DE ORLEÃES, D. (Rainha de Portugal).- Mes dessins = Os meus desenhos.- Paris; Londres: Le Goupy; Maggs Bros., 1927-1928.- 2 vols.: muito il.; 40 cm.- E. One of the mythical books of the first half of the 20th century, entirely lithographed and calligraphed, presenting the drawings with a very special charm. Its product was destined for the National Assistance to Tuberculosis, an institution founded by Queen D. Amélia of Portugal, in 1899. The Count of Sabugosa, a great and erudite bibliophile, directed the edition, who did not see the work completed. The first volume with the subtitle “Mes endroits préférés”, presents the following justification: “Cet album a été tiré à deux cent cinquante exemplaires numerotés. Nº 92. Exemplaire imprimé pour O Conde de Castro Guimarães”. The second volume, subtitled “Art et archéologie”, had a circulation of 375 copies (this one with the number 103) and presents the name Eugénio Brandão de Mello added in ink. First volume take with missing illustrations 14, 29, 32, 34 and 83, of the 119 it should contain (print 115 with small marginal damage); the second is complete with 100 lithographed illustrations. Loose-leaf copy, with the parchment portfolios, proper to the edition, missing the ivory clasps, but retaining the parchment straps.
