Rare edition of a poem in five cantos of the ottava rima, dedicated to D. Gaspar de Guzman, Count of Olivares, showing his coat of arms, copperplate engraved, on the back of the title page (with Lievendal fec. subscription). The author, of whom little is known, was born in Tangier, at the time when this city was under Portuguese rule. Cropped copy, with signs of handling and a small, poorly repaired wormhole on the lower margin of about 20 leaves. Occasional light (tidal) stains. Title page slightly weakened with old inscription on the upper margin and ownership heavily crossed out at the end of the title. Oval stamp on the title page and verso of the last page: Ex Libris Vieira Pinto. Ex-libris of the Livraria de JG Mazziotti Salema Garção on the back cover. Full flecked sheep binding, not contemporary, stained, with worn spine and signs wormholes. Palau (181451) makes the description by the copy of the Azevedo-Samodães Library and informs: “No sabemos de ninguna biblioteca española que lo posea”. Samodans, 2166 (extremely rare).
