João de Almeida Portugal (1663-1733), 2nd Count of Assumar, 2nd Marquis of Alorna (father of Alcipe); In 1758, following the attempt on King D. José I of Portugal, he was incarcerated, first in the Tower of Belem, then in the fort of Junqueira, where he was only released by Queen D. Maria I of Portugal, in 1777. Set consisting of the following autograph documents: Two letters to his wife D. Leonor of Lorraine eTávora; Seven letters (and 2 fragments?) for his daughter Alcipe (1785-1786); 22 letters and a ticket for his grandchildren José and Leonor da Câmara. Mostly undated documents (some between 1783 and 1786).

MANUSCRITOS.- CARDEAL D. HENRIQUE.- Carta régia.- Século XVI (1560).- 1 documento (1 f.); 267 x 335 mm. Manuscript on parchment. Royal Letter of King D. Sebastião of Portugal, with instructions to the judges, aldermen, prosecutors and officials of the municipality of Antuã on the way of naming the almotacés of the aforementioned county. Document dated Lisbon, 1 August 1567. Autographer Signature: The Card. Iffte. (Cardinal Infante, D. Henrique, during the minority of his grandson-nephew, King D. Sebastião). On the back, several visas and records. It preserves the ribbon and a fragment of the seal.

MANUSCRITOS.- D. JOÃO I (Rei de Portugal).- Carta de sentença.- Século XIV (1388).- 1 f.; 230 x 440 mm. Manuscript on parchment. Letter of sentence of D. João I that closes the process moved by Rodrigo Eanes, abbot of S. Martinho de Cavanhão ("Cauanham "), against João Estevens de Matos, Squire, and his wife Joana Rodrigues, residents in Vila Verde, term of sanfins, on the possession of a Fifth called the Reboulho or the Rebulho, of which the author claims to have been unsated by the defendants. Current process in the House of the civil of Coimbra by royal decision because the judges of the judge of Sanfins "Could not do right to them because they were powerful people and such that they could not do right ". Because of the lack of attendance of the defendants in the hearings and in their absency, he judged the king in favor of the author. Document dated from Coimbra, April 3, 1388. Autographed signatures of the overjudges of the House of civil Afonso Domingues: "Alfonsus domenjci", and Bartolomeu Martins: "Bartholomeus Bachalarius et judex ". Escrivão Vasco Gomes. Parchment with small support failure in the fold, without lack of text, fully legible. It conserves remnants of the pending primitive seal chain, disappeared. In the upper plan, the following inscription (from re-use in the 16th century)): Livro dos recibos da Confraria de nossa Snra. da Sée de Coimbra do anno de mil e quinhentos e trinta e nove até o anno de 1576. On both sides of the leaf, it preserves a fragment of the Book of Laws or the seven departures, by Alfonso X the sage (1221-1284), composed in ancient Portuguese, two columns, Gothic letter, with red epigraphes, being legible several passages of the following laws (are indicated only the first and last words of each excerpt): 1º fólio (recto), 1ª coluna, Partida V, Título VII, Lei VI: […] de creer non caeria en esta pena sobredita [...] non der portagem. e ante que a demandem 2ª coluna (continuação): [...] os que am d’auer [...] demandar eles nem seus herdeiros. Partida V, Título V, Lei LXI: LEI LXª COMO SSE NON PO-/ DE [...] do vendedor e do comprador que […] De salientar que da Partida V (títulos V e VII) apenas se conhecem dois fragmentos que se encontram na Torre do Tombo (Fragmentos 1-A e 1-B: Lisboa, IAN/TT - Fragmentos, Caixa 21, doc. 3), The present fragment may well be the only or one of the only surviving medieval handwritten copies, in old Portuguese, of the excerpt in question. Front of the First Folio somewhat faded; Interior of the cover (back of the First Folio and front of the second) perfectly legible; back of the last very Agentwalter folio (with very sharp inscription of the 16th century).

MANUSCRITOS.- BISPO DE LISBOA (Século XIII).- Instrumento público de procuração.- Século XIII (1294).- 1 f.; 206 x 170 mm. Manuscript on parchment. Public proxy instrument by which D. João Martins de Soalhães, Bishop of Lisbon (1294-1313), and D. Aimerico D'ébrard, Bishop of Coimbra (1279-† 1295), make their attorneys, respectively, D. João António, Archdeacon of Coimbra, and Pedro Durão, abbot of Church of S. Miguel D'anriade, in order to deliver the properties that had already concerted to exchange. D. João gives up the heritages of Mogofores, Condeixa and Ventosa, and D. Aimerico the Couto de Cavanhão ( "Caffanham ") and the estates of Cercosa, Bordonhos and São Vicente. Additionally, the Bishop of Lisbon constitutes Lourenço Peres and Domingos Durão his attorneys to receive the properties that the Bishop of Coimbra should deliver. Document dated from Coimbra, 13 April 1294. Public sign of the notary Miguel Airas, public notary of the city of Coimbra, formed by the letters (MCLIS), by Michaelis. Parchment somewhat stained, but fully legible. Provenance: Collection Manuel Empis de Lucena.

MANUSCRITOS.- BRAGANÇA E VINHAIS.- Carta de doação.- Século XII (1159).- 1 f.; 295x400 mm. Manuscript on parchment. Letter of donation by which Fernando Godins donates to the monastery of San Martín de Castanheira (or Castañeda), in the land of Sanabrian, the Bishopric of Astorga (Lion), the properties it inherited from its parents, located in Rabal (Bragança) and Vilar de Ossos (Vinhais). Beautiful document of the early days of nationality, in primitive Gothic calligraphic letter, presenting a chrismon on the left bank of the first three lines (reproduced in vol. 2 of Elucidário de Viterbo, p. 643b, attachement "XP"), a small sign in front of the subscription in the notary, "Petrus qui notuit ", and another larger, centered and flanked by the lists of confirmatives and witnesses, in rosette, with a cross in the centre, possibly the author of the donation. . Document published in T. 3 (1910, pp. 263-264) of the Archeologico-Historicas of the district of Braganza, of the abbot of Baçal, to the time belonging to the "notary of the Figueiredos, in Braganza" and in possession of Francisco de Moura Coutinho. It is, of course, one of the oldest documents we are aware of, referring to the toponyms and properties of the Braganza district. Provenance: Collection Manuel Empis de Lucena.
