An illustrated history of the naval battles of René Duguay-Trouin (1673-1736), first as a privateer and later as an officer of the French navy, from 1692 until 1711, the year of the capture of the city of Rio de Janeiro, represented on a double sheet engraved map. A complete copy with slight handling; portrait of the second circulation (the first was printed without the name of the pictured), with some (tide) water stains at the top and at the bottom, affecting to some extent the engraving; manuscript of the time belongs: appartient a M. Henry lieutenant de [illegible]. Engravings III and IX with small edge tear without no lack of support. Modest binding with calf spine. Borba de Moraes, p. 273 (It is a sumptuous and rare work)
