Dear friends,

It is with great pleasure that we present to you the catalog of our AUCTION 143 - ANTIQUES AND WORKS OF ART, divided in four sessions on the 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th November 2012.

More than fourteen hundred lots, covering virtually all areas of antiques, with a wide range of prices; part of the third session and the fourth and final session are dedicated to silverware and jewelry, as usual.

A multiplicity of works of art and collectors' items that we invite you to discover, live, at the exhibition, or at our website www.cml.pt.

With the invitation, a piece of relevant information for our present and future customers, concerning our formal valuation of items.

Considering the increasing number of requests for formal valuation of items that are presented to us – particularly for the purpose of insurance, inheritance, auction sales or property inventory updates
– and the convenience to make such valuations more accessible, starting in the lower ranks value on one side, and fairer in its overall calculation, on the other, Cabral Moncada Leilões decided to revise its fee schedule
and reduce their fees with effect from November 2012, as follows:

Total Value of the Valuation:

up to € 50,000 - 2% (previously 3%);
between € 50,001 and € 100,000 to 1.75% (previously: 2.5%);
between € 100,001 and € 500,000 - 1.5% (new ranking);
between € 500,001 and € 1,000,000 to 1.25% (new ranking);
between € 1,000,001 and € 1,500,000 - 1.00% (new ranking);
between € 1,500,001 and € 2,000,000 - 0.75% (new ranking);
above € 2,000,001 - 0.50% (unchanged).

The principle that the cost of formal valuation of items that are subsequently placed and sold at auction will be deducted from the amount owed by the owner remains unaltered.

Last but not least, two new books forthcoming from SCRIBE, available very soon, that we have the pleasure of presenting here firsthand: "Ourivesaria Portuguesa de Aparato- séculos XV e XVI",  by Nuno Vassallo e Silva, and "José Malhoa (1855-1933) - Catálogo Raisonné", by Nuno Saldanha. Two books with large cultural reach, to which further reference is made ahead.

Yours sincerely

Pedro Maria de Alvim                                      Miguel Cabral de Moncada
