Complete and clean copy of one of the most beautiful books of Portuguese typography from the end of the Ancien Régime. The original engravings are by Machado de Castro. The first two (allegorical) were engraved by the Spaniard Rafael Esteve and the others by José Lúcio da Costa, Coxinho, who signed them Lucius (Ernesto Soares, História da Gravura artística em Portugal, p. 187). Engraving III, with irregular outer margin; the IV is poorly folded; XXIII with the outer and lower margins redone, without affecting the engraved surface. Otherwise, a lightly trimmed copy (carmine edges), but very clean. Contemporary binding, entirely sheepskin, with a patina and some imperfections in the coating of the later cover. Ameal, 1410.
