Manuscript on bifolio paper (second blank folio), in calligraphed Manueline cursive Gothic script. Decree of King D. Sebastião I (during the regency of Cardinal D. Henrique) authorizing Sebastião de Sá, a nobleman of the royal house, to establish half of his estate as a morgado and to leave it to his firstborn son, with the guarantee that, since he was still single and childless, no child or descendant that might be born could challenge or undo the morgado by claiming that he could only establish a morgado of his third part, or other arguments that would invalidate it. Document dated Lisbon, September 10, 1563. Autograph signature: “Cardinal Iffante”. Autographed signature: “Manuel da Costa o fez escrever”. Clerk: Jorge da Costa.
