MANUSCRIPTS.- D. FILIPE II & D. FILIPE III, Kings of Portugal.- Letter of favour, two apostilles and a seat.- 17th century (1625-1631).- 1 notebook (12 f.); 325 x 230 mm. Manuscript in parchment section (12 f.) in humanistic cancelleresque script. Includes the following documents: 1 - Letters patent from Kling D. Filipe II to Dona Beatriz de Lencastre, Duchess of Braganza, of a tence of 62$125 réis (8 February 1621); 2 - Apostille (by Philip III) added upon the death of the Duchess of Braganza, D. Beatriz (or Brites) de Lencastre (3 April 1624); 3 - Apostille (by Philip III) on the death of D. Isabel, Duchess of Caminha (25 January 1631); 4 - Record of the chancellery clerk (1 April 1637, signed by Fernão Gomes da Gama and António de Barros), stating that D. Pedro de Lencastre kept 35$000 réis of the tence “due to a sentence passed against the nuns of Santa Ana de Leiria”. The letters of patent include copies of the following documents: 1.1 - Letter of patent from King D. Filipe II to D. António Teles de Meneses, bishop of Lamego (6 June 1598), which includes, in turn, the copy of another letter of patent of a tence, an apostille and a warrant; 1.2 - [First] apostille, dated February 7, 1604; 1.3 - [Second] apostille, dated April 16, 1614; 1.4 - [Third] apostille, dated 30 September 1618. Autographed signatures of Philip II: El Rey (on folio 9v); and of Philip III: Rey (on folios 11r and 12r). First folio recto a little worn and dusty; remains of the pendant seal suspension (lead, missing), green, white and pink silk braid. Otherwise, a clean and perfectly legible document.
