Bernardim Freire de Andrade (1759-1809), general officer of the Portuguese Army, born in Lisbon, assassinated during the Peninsular War. Authentic copy, at the request of José Gomes Freire de Andrade (Principal Freire who would become president of the Provisional Board), taken from the War Council process in which his brother, lieutenant general Bernardim Freire de Andrade, was sentenced and rehabilitated. He was “atrocious and savagely murdered on March 17, 1809, to be celebrated as Vª. A. R. [the Prince Regent], whose Regio concept is so important to the memory of the late general and the honor of the dismayed family and another identical copy to be kept in the Registry Office of his house”. The request was the subject of an order dated January 28, 1810. The sentence determined that the lieutenant general's military conduct was not only irreproachable, but worthy of much praise. Volume with more than 800 pages, probably written in one hand. At the end, a closing statement dated from the State Secretariat for Foreign Affairs and War, March 12, 1810.
