(mid) missing headdress, other faults and defects, many traces of wood insects carved by the sculptor Savula and purchased in Sandando, Moxico province, in 1971 Dimensões (altura x comprimento x largura) - 20 cm Notes: Provenance: Collection of Engineer Elísio Romariz dos Santos Silva, item number 174, mentioned in the notebook of the collector «Angola - Arte Negra, Relação e descrição das peças», identified there as «Katoio»: "Very protruding visor, hollow rectangular eyes, thin nose with nostrils formed by two holes. Long mouth [...] The bridge of the nose is ornamented with a groove along its entire length. [...] Purchased in Sandando , Sanzala on the right side of the railway next to the C.F.B. station) to its sculptor and owner Savula. It was used by the professional dancer Tchikua.
