Copy of what is considered the best edition of this work, which was also published under the title of "Epítome de las Historias Portuguesas", by the humanist, poet and historian Manuel de Faria e Sousa (1590-1649), born in Felgueiras. Illustrated edition with an engraved allegorical frontispiece, representing the dominion of Lusitania over the World, an engraving with the coat of arms of Portugal (before the beginning of the text) and 25 portraits of the Kings of Portugal, up to D. João V. with large margins, containing only 24 portraits (missing the portrait of Count D. Henrique). Small modern ex-libris, with a monogram (JLF?) and two cutouts from booksellers, pasted on the back cover. Contemporary binding, recovered, very worn. Inocêncio, XVI, p. 186. Samodães (1664) refers to an Antwerp edition of the same date.
