Colnaghi and Co., 1813.- [6], 18, [2, 1] p.: 1 retrato, 18, 1 gravuras; 57 cm.- E Henry L'Évêque (1769-1832), born in Geneva, a painter, miniaturist, watercolourist and above all an engraver, was part of a group of artists who, following the French Revolution, wandered around Europe accompanying armies in campaign, recording for the posterity the most famous battles of the Napoleonic wars. Complete copy of the second edition, of the variant with the word “Marquis” on the title page (instead of “Earl”), consisting of a title page, a dedication and a list of subscribers; 18 pages follow. with the introduction and descriptions of 17 prints, plus a sheet (2 p.) with the description of the first print (embarkation of the royal family to Brazil). The following are the illustrations: engraving and etching portrait of Wellington, standing, dated 1815 and 18 engravings, in accordance with the descriptions, starting with the embarkation mentioned above. At the end, a double engraving (Plan of the battle of Albuera) and a description of the latter engraving, with the title “Reference” and a large allegorical vignette. These two smaller double sheets are not described in the bibliographies and catalogues consulted. Copy slightly dusty and with slight browning; the engravings retain good margins. Symbolic ex-libris of Abel d'Andrade. Simple contemporary half-binding(?), with leather spine and corners, slightly worn. Duarte de Sousa, 139.
