Large descriptive cartouche, surmounted by the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Portugal. Below, another panoramic cartouche, representing the islands of Ascenção and Santa Helena, both discovered by the Galician navigator João da Nova, in 1501, at the time in the service of Portugal.
