It includes seven prints from the campaigns in Portugal: Roleia, Vimeira, Passage of the Douro, Taking of Oporto, Busaco, Lines of Torres Vedras and Almeida. Some browning, sometimes strong, mostly confined to the text sheets. Gift inscription, in English, on the free endpaper, dated 1890. Ex-libris by Emílio Monteiro (lot 243 of the Silva's/Pedro de Azevedo catalogue, May 1990). Contemporary binding, fully crushed blue morocco, probably from an English workshop, a little flayed, with gilt decoration (double gilt ornamental border) on the covers, squares and spine; gilt edges.
