Complete collection of the most beautiful edition of the “Decadas”, printed at Oficina Régia. The four “Decadas” by João de Barros are part of the first eight volumes, followed by a general index (and the author's biography) and are illustrated with three portraits (of the author, Infante D. Henrique and Afonso de Albuquerque) and five maps leaflets; also the remaining eight “Decadas of Diogo do Couto”, illustrated only with his portrait (missing in the present copy), are presented in 14 volumes plus the respective index (the title page was never printed). Note that the “Tenth Decade” is now printed for the first time. All title pages feature a monogrammed circular stamp (JPD?) with the indication Ex Libris ¿Fama?. First volume with some stains in the first section. For the rest, a slightly cropped but very clean copy, keeping the maps very fresh and well folded.
