A longcase clock walnut and burr-walnut veneered oak case with marquetry work polished, engraved, matted, silver and gilt brass dial, month autonomy, hour striking on bell, month calendar, 0.94 semi-period pendulum English 18th C. (1st half) minor faults and defects, mechanism requiring maintenance signed THOMAS WHITE LONDINI FECIT Dimensões (altura x comprimento x largura) - 220 x 31 x 24 cm Notes: the subsidiary dial gives strong evidence that originally the clock had a 1 ¼ secondspendulum (roughly 59 inches long). Later alterations were made to the movement, namely toallow for a shorter pendulum of 0.94 seconds of semi-period (roughly 37 inches long), and sothe small hand does not indicate seconds nor does it correspond to the numbering on theoriginal seconds ring.
