MICHEL-LE COMTE - Charles Guillaume Diehl (1811-1885) Dimensões (altura x comprimento x largura) - 68,5 x 60,5 cm Notes: of Germanic origin, Charles-Guillaume Diehl (1811-1885) was the son of a carpenter from Steinback, in the Grand Duchy of Hesse. He settled in Paris at the end of the 1830s and in 1840 married Zoé-Philippine Vavasseur, establishing himself with a carpentry workshop at 39 Saint-Sébastien street. In the middle of the 19th century, Diehl became one of the main cabinet-makers in Paris, employing six hundred workers and artisans in 1870. He participated in most of the major French and international exhibitions of his time, regularly winning awards, including a bronze medal in 1855, a medal of honour at the Central Union exhibition in 1869 and a medal of progress in Vienna in 1873.
