The regiment of Accounts represents an important reform of the Philippine administration dating from Lisbon on 3 September 1627, concentrating on the House of Tales all the public accounting of the metropolis and overseas. In this sense, the House of Accounts, as the first organ for ordering and supervising the revenues and expenses of the State, can be considered the predecessor of the current Court of Auditors.
