[1750].- 143, [1] p.; 23 cm.- E. The original edition of the Treaty of Madrid, whereby the crowns of Portugal and Spain decide, by mutual agreement, to definitively establish and "de jure" the borders of the territories of South America which, in large part, already occupied and detained "de facto" (with The exception of the Colonia del Sacramento, which is attributed to Portugal). To this purpose, it begins by transcribing all the documents historically relevant to the new agreement, namely the bull Inter Cætera of Pope Alexander VI of 4 May 1493 (p. 53 to 58), the Treaty of Tordesillas, of 7 June 1494, now printed by the first Time (P. 59 to 79), the instrument of the office held in Zaragoza on 22 April, 1529, better known as the Zaragoza Agreement (p. 80 to 110), the provisional Treaty of Lisbon, of 7 May 1681 (p. 111 to 125) and the Treaty of Utrecht of 6 February 1715 (p. 126 to 143). With the Treaty of Madrid (p. 2 to 51), which integrates 26 articles, the boundaries of Brazil as we know today are practically defined. The edition is printed on high quality paper and grammage, and the face is of black and red composition. Exemplary with some imperfections that do not affect their integrity, namely: Cover sheet with three stamps (two erased and the third illegible) and five tiny central worm cuts (on the text); The following two leaves with slight stains; worm cuts, sometimes deep in the upper margin of most leaves (in most cases limited to one hole), without affecting the text; Stamp on the back of the last leaf: School and torpedo services. Entire caf binding of the time, a little tired and with signs of worm work on the spine. Palau, 339297. Sabin, 96515 and 96546. Borba de Moraes, p. 866. 198 Robert Bosch. Brasiliana Itaú, p. 494. John Carter Brown, 750/5.
