Paris: Hachette, 1963, pp. 182-197.The present corner cabinets were sold at London Christie's on May 9, 1895, lot No. 270, property of Mrs. Lyne Stephens and later at London Christie's on May 18, 1927, lot No. 79, property of Mrs. Louis Raphael. Finally, they were purchased in London in 1953, still at Christie's, by a Portuguese collector.In 1778, Riesener produced a chest of drawers for Madame Elisabeth (sister of Luis XVI) destined to the Grand Cabinet at Versailles and, at the same time, he also supplied a pair of corner cabinets.
