The original edition of this translation attributed to Pierre Thomas de Fossé (1634-1698) and Louis Lemaître de Sacy (1613-1884). In addition to Friar Luis de Granada, O. P. (1504-1588), the Edition includes texts by Friar Luis de Cácegas, O.P. (1540-1610), Friar Luis de Sousa, O.P. (c. 1555-1632), D. Rodrigo da Cunha (1577-1643) and Luis Muñoz (16th/17th centuries). The portrait of Friar Bartlomeu dos Mártires, O.P. (1514-1590, beatified November 4, 2001), intaglio engraved (taille douce), has the following subscription: Champaigne del. — Houlanger fecit.
