ATHANASIUS KIRCHER - 1601-1680 The original edition of one of the symbolic works and graphically more flamboyant of the German Jesuit Athanasius Kircher (1601-1680). Copy with acidity, handling, some bookworm cuts (which sometimes affect the printed part) and other imperfections (some restored); allegorical frontispiece and last two leaves (index) with more pronounced restoration, especially marginal; tear on the engraving between leaves B2 and B3, no lack of support. It is however complete and capable of being recovered. Binding of the time, intact hard parchment, slightly fatigued.
