The Kingdom's Chief Officer of Arms Regiment of D. Manuel I, King of Portugal Document on parchment, consisting of two line sewn and joint bifolios containing royal instructions addressed to D. Álvaro da Costa (c. 1470-1540), wardrobe, Counsellor and Chamberlain of King Manuel I, who was also alcaide-mor (Town Magistrate) of Crato, diplomat and representative of the King (by proxy) on His marriage with the Infanta D. Leonor of Spain. Coeval copy of the license with the text of the 1st Regiment, without the additions of 1508. Well-kept document, showing only the outside of the first bifolio, a bit dusty and occasional marginal ink minor stains. Unsigned manuscript, dating from Abrantes, July 1, 1507.
