We are pleased to present to you the catalogue of our auction 170 dedicated to antiques and works of art with a core of modern and contemporary art.

Four sessions, on the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th of July 2015. The first part of the second session, July 7, dedicated to modern and contemporary art (lots 451 to 599); the fourth session integrating silverware and jewellery.

About 1480 lots of antiques and works of art spanning nearly every area of the antique trade of which stand out a pair of large Chinese porcelain bottles with lids, Guangxu period, which illustrates our catalogue cover (lot 1127), and a silver tea pot with burner by António Maria Ribeiro (lot 1463).

Modern and contemporary art is represented through 150 lots, including names like the photographer Helena Almeida (Cover, lot 478), Justino Alves, Eduardo Alarcão, Manuel Baptista, Manuel Caeiro, Noronha da Costa, João Cutileiro, Lima de Freitas, Querubim Lapa, Graça Morais, Eduardo Nery, Rolando Sá Nogueira, Paulo Ossião, Cândido Costa Pinto, Espiga Pinto, Pedro Pires, António Quadros, Julião Sarmento and Vhils.

A variety of art pieces, collectors' items and a significant number of originals by contemporary artists that we invite you to discover, live, at the exhibition from the 1st of July or even before that, through our website www.cml.pt.

Finally, a reference to the most recent publication by our partner SCRIBE, a co-edition with the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Lisbon/São Roque Museum – “FROM ROME TO LISBON – AN ALBUM FOR THE MAGNANIMOUS KING”: the famous Weale Album fully reproduced, presented and studied by national and international experts, already available on SCRIBE.
