A large grooved chest with soclet Renaissance juniper (or cedar) top, front and base with rooved decoration with groovings filled with black mass (grall nut) "Nobleman offering a flower to a lady" and "Immaginary animals and balustrades between classicist arches", scalloped socle, iron mounts Portuguese - Azores 16th/17th C. bottom separated from the chest and attached to the socle, restoration, various cracks, minor faults and defects, traces of woodworms Dimensões (altura x comprimento x largura) - 86 x 184 x 67 cm Notes: the chest has the unique feature of having a top decorated with grooved ornamentation, a very rare occurrence in the context of the production of this type of Azorean chest. This type of chest was studied in FERRÃO, Bernardo - "Mobiliário Português - dos primórdios ao maneirismo - volume quarto - Anexos".
