The first series comprises an engraved sheet with a dedication to King D. João VI (from which the title above was taken, as the title page was never printed) and 32 portraits representing the following "enlightened" figures of the Liberal Revolution (the numbering follows the order of the volume): 1 - Manuel Fernades Tomás; 2 - José Ferreira Borges; 3 - José da Silva Carvalho; 4 - João Ferreira Viana; 5 - Duarte Lessa; 6 - José Maria Lopes Carneiro; 7 - José Gonçalves dos Santos Silva; 8 - José Pereira de Meneses; 9 - Francisco Gomes da Silva; 10 - João da Cunha Soto Maior; 11 - José de Melo e Castro de Abreu; 12 - José Maria Xavier de Araújo; 13 - Bernardo Correia de Castro e Sepúlveda; 14 - Sebastião Drago de Brito Cabreira; 15 - Domingos António Gil de Figueiredo Sarmento; 16 - José Pereira da Silva Leite de Berredo; 17 - José de Sousa Pimentel de Faria; 18 - José Pedro Cardoso e Silva; 19 - Tibúrcio Joaquim Barreto Feio; 20 - António Lobo Teixeira de Barros; 21 - António da Silveira Pinto da Fonseca; 22 - António Barreto Pinto Feio; 23 - Manuel Vaz Pinto Guedes; 24 - Gaspar Teixeira de Magalhães e Lacerda; 25 - Luís Pedro de Andrade Brederode; 26 - Francisco de Sousa Cirne de Madureira; 27 - Pedro Leite Pereira de Melo; 28 - Francisco José de Barros Lima; 29 - José Joaquim Ferreira de Moura; 30 - Fr. Francisco de São Luís; 31 - Roque Ribeiro de Abranches Castelo Branco; 32 - José Manuel de Sousa Ferreira e Castro. The authorship and date were taken from the signature of the first portrait. The second series consists of six engravings with allegories to the Constitution of the Monarchy (in panorama format), by the engraver Constantino de Fontes: 33 - Dedicated to the exalted Sovereignty of the Lusitanian Courts; 34 - Event of August 24, 1820; 35 - Event of September 15, 1821; 36 - October 1, 1820; 37 - Event of January 21, 1821; 38 - Portuguese Constitution. Very clean set, preserving all the engravings very clean and with large margins. Contemporary half leather binding with slight wear on the paper cover.
