Complete set of a rare periodical publication, promoted by Augusto César Pardal († 1884) associated with his son Carlos Augusto Pardal, at the time established at Rua de São Paulo, 216, in Lisbon, which had “the aim of publishing through photography the main objects of art and antiquity, existing in the museums and galleries of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Lisbon”, as can be read in the booklet of the work, glued to the flyleaf (another informative leaflet, glued to the verso). The seven volumes include 168 (+ 13 freebies) captioned and numbered photographs, mounted with tabs on cardboard sheets. We are not aware of any other collection with the same number of originals, nor of any reference to that number of photographs. BN (Newspapers and Magazines) does not mention. Antonio Sena, p. 57 (referring to 1877 as the last year of publication).
