NEGREIROS, José de Almada.- Manifesto Anti-Dantas e por extenso / por José de Almada-Negreiros poeta d'Orpheu, futurista e tudo.- [Liboa]: Edição do Auctor, s.d. [1915].- [8] p.; 30 [capas] cm.- B. Original edition of the famous "Manifesto Anti-Dantas", published by Almada Negreiros following the premiere, on October 20, 1915, at the Teatro Ginásio, in Lisbon, of the play “Soror Mariana Alcoforado”, by Júlio Dantas himself, one of the most ardent detractors of the modernist current embodied in the magazine “Orpheu”. Dantas had been accusing the authors of the modernist generation of “disturbed minds and delusional ideas” for some time, among other more or less offensive epithets. In his "Manifesto"; Almada answers to him to the letter, in language so free and direct that it caused a scandal in conservative Lisbon society (a good example of Almada's verve is the famous tirade: MORRA O DANTAS, MORRA! PIM). Copy with dedication from the author on the first page, with strong calligraphic graphics: “Ao bom amigo Carlos Campos Offe. cheio de boa amizade, O Autor. Lxa. 8 Março [19]17”. The copy is in paperback, very clean, as published, with only a few small marginal tears on the paperback covers, without loss of support.
