Pedro de Ribadeneyra (1526-1611), Spanish Jesuit, historian and ascetic writer of the Golden Age, born in Toledo. Ribadeneyra was the first biographer of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, whose first edition was published in Latin (Naples, 1572), followed by that of Madrid (1583) and the present one, dedicated to D. Gaspar de Quiroga, archbishop of Toledo. Slightly cropped copy, with slight stain and small wormhole on the first three pages, including the face. Otherwise very clean. Full parchment binding, with superficial wear, almost detached from the body. Palau, 266223.
