Friar Heitor Pinto (†1584), religious Jerome, born in Covilhã, humanist and one of the classic Portuguese writers. His «Dialogues» were published for the first time in 1563 and repeatedly republished, but it was only in 1681 that the two parts were collected in one volume. This must be the 7th Portuguese edition. Cropped copy, with slight browning and some water stains (tidal); lower margin of the title with reinforcement, probably to cover up ownership; occasional minor restorations and reading marks.
