Año de 1708.- [44], 829, [18] p.; 30 cm.- E Original edition of a monastic chronicle of great importance for the history of relations between Spain and Morocco. The work, with extensive considerations on the land and customs, narrates the history of the Franciscan missions since the 13th century in this North African country, describing the persecutions and martyrdoms that the missionaries suffered for close to five centuries. About the author (fl. 1700), little is known, apart from having been an apostolic preacher, qualifier of the Holy Office, guardian of the Convent of Mequinez (in Morocco) and general chronicler of the Franciscan missions. Uncropped and very clean copy, missing the engraved allegorical title that integrates most, but not all, known copies. Contemporary binding, entirely flexible parchment, with traces of the ties.
