A cat faience sculpture probably from the Real Fábrica de Louça, at Rato polychrome decoration Portuguese 18th C. (4th quarter) minor fault at the top of one ear, small chips Dimensões (altura x comprimento x largura) - 37 cm Notes: Provenance: Portuguese Royal House - King D. Manuel II (1889-1932) of Portugal, having been, after the establishment of the Republic, inventoried by the Commission for the Listing of Palaces, with nº 940 - according to the label attached to the base - returned and transported to England, according to the Fulwell Park inventory label pasted on the base, with number 65, visible in a photograph (reproduced here) of the interiors of Fulwell Park, the house where King Manuel II lived and died in exile. It was part of the "El Rei D. Manuel II" auction, held at the Correio Velho Palace, in November 1992, with no. 320, where it is mentioned that it had a label with the inscription CLARK Rª Nº 656178, CONDUIT STREET, BOND STREET.
