The Baur Foundation (Museum of Far Eastern Art) in Geneva preserves about 9000 pieces of Chinese and Japanese art, covering a period of more than one millennium (century. X to XIX), assembled by Alfred Baur (1865-1951), entrepreneur and notable Swiss collector, natural of Zurich, for more than 45 years, along with some important sets donated to the museum, after its inauguration in 1964. The four volumes dedicated to Chinese ceramics, the central core of the collection, today considered mandatory reference works in its theme, present the following subtitles: Volume One: With Korean and Thai wares; Volume Two: Ming porcelains, and other wares; Volume Three: monochrome-glazed porcelains of the ch'ing Dynasty; Volume Four: Painted polychrome porcelains of the Ch'ing Dynasty.
