According to Innocent (V, p. 170) this is a work of great erudition and its author reveals great studies and indepth knowledge of antiquities. The two first volumes have the following collation: I - [8], 566, [38] p.; II - [8], 519, [1] p. The first volume presents (on the back of the third folio) a beautiful intaglio (taille-douce) portrait of St. Benedict. The second volume, printed by Manuel de Carvalho, includes an alphabetical catalogue of the coats of arms of the Kingdom's nobility, comprising 310 families. A slightly trimmed copy with some acidity but complete and solid, preserving the rare portrait. Slightly fatigued and entire calf 20th century bindings with gold closed houses on the spines.
