The Confessions, along with the City of God, are his most important works and deeply studied and read in the West even today. 16th century Venetian Edition, fully printed in round characters. Copy lightly trimmed with small ink stain on the back of the last leaf; Moreover, very clean. Entire calf binding, recent (Frederido d'Almeida label), with use of two gold engraved fragments of the original binding (?), with AG initials in the fore plan and CF in the rear plan, flanking a small representation of the Saint (?).
