The Annunciation, oil on canvas, Portuguese school, 18th C., relined, small restorations Notes: This painting was done from one of the variations for the mosaic of Agostino Masucci (1691-1758) that is exhibited in the chapel of St. John the Baptist, Church of São Roque, Lisbon, in the present case, it was an order of D. João V, King of Portugal, in 1742 and having been inaugurated in January 13, 1751, after his death, with D. José I on the throne. By Agostino Masucci, there are several versions of this composition. In Portugal are known the paintings exhibited in the Museum of Aveiro and the National Palace of Mafra. View respectively: VALE, Teresa Leonor m.-[catalogue entries].
