Segunda edição, compreendendo as crónicas do conde

e D. Fernando. A primeira edição data de 1600 (Lisboa, Pedro
Crasbeeck), tendo a crónica de D. João I, que não consta
da presente edição, sido impressa em 1643 (Lisboa, António
Álvares). Exemplar um pouco aparado, com ligeira acidez
e manuseamento; corte de traça na margem superior das
últimas 50 folhas; pertence manuscrito riscado (e pequena
etiqueta) na página de rosto e ocasionais sublinhados da época.
Conserva o anterrosto (com pequeno carimbo), que falta
em muitos exemplares. Encadernação da época, inteira
de carneira, com sinais de trabalho de traça na lombada.

Second Edition, including the Chronicles of count D. Henrique,
Kings D. Afonso Henriques, D. Sancho I, D. Afonso II, D. Sancho II,
D. Afonso III, D. Dinis I, D. Afonso IV, D. Pedro I and D. Fernando
I. The first edition dates from 1600 (Lisbon, Pedro Crasbeeck),
and the Chronicle of King D. João I, which is not included
in the present Edition, were printed in 1643 (Lisbon, António
Álvares). Copy slightly trimmed, with slight acidity and
handling; bookworm cut on the top margin of the last 50
leaves; scratched manuscript possession mark (and small label)
on the title page and occasional underlining of the time.
It preserves the half title page (with stamp), lacking in many
other copies. Entire calf binding of the time with traces

Obra que inclui diversas referências ao terremoto de 1755,
é habitualmente atribuída ao historiador escocês Archibald
Bower (1686-1766) que foi membro da Companhia de Jesus e,
mais tarde, abraçou a Igreja Anglicana. Bower é também o autor
de uma História dos Papas, em 7 volumes (Londres, 1748-66).
Exemplar com ligeira acidez, mas completo e sólido;
pertence (assinatura) manuscrito da época na página
de rosto (James Wylie). Encadernação inteira de carneira.

Work that includes several references to the earthquake
of 1755, usually attributed to the Scottish historian
Archibald Bower (1686-1766) who was a member of the
society of Jesus and, later, embraced the Church of England.
Bower is also the author of a history of the Popes,
in 7 volumes (London, 1748-66). Copy with slight acidity
but complete and solid; manuscript possession (signature)
of the time on the title page (James Wylie). Entire calf binding.
