Jorge de Cabedo (†ca.1604), jurisconsulto natural de Setúbal, foi juiz do Desembargo do Paço
e chanceler do Reino. A obra, impressa a duas colunas, embora em latim, integra muitas notas
e extensas transcrições e informações em vernáculo. Pertence manuscrito na página de rosto
e ocasionais anotações marginais, da época. Exemplar um pouco aparado, mas em geral limpo.
Encadernação da época, inteira de carneira, levemente cansada e com guardas novas. Arouca, C 4.

Jorge de Cabedo (+ circa 1640), a Jurist born in Setúbal, was an appellate judge desembargador of
the Royal Palace and chancellor of the realm. The work, printed on two columns, although in
Latin, integrates many notes and extensive transcripts and information in vernacular. Ownership
manuscript on the cover page and radom marginal annotations of the time. Slightly trimmed
copy but clean. Entire calf binding of the time, slightly fatigued and with new guards.

Gabriel Daniel (1649-1728), jesuita e historiador francês, natural de Rouen, com vasta bibliografia
activa de temática religiosa e filosófica (anti-jansenismo), alcançou o seu maior sucesso literário
na presente Histoire de la Milice Françoise, aqui representada na sua segunda edição (a primeira
data de 1721), bem como na sua Histoire de France (1713), cuja edição de 1755-60 viria a ser
ampliada para 17 volumes. A colação de cada um dos tomos é a seguinte: I - [32], 448 p.: 48 grav.;
II - [16], 552 p.: 22 grav. Inclui, portanto, um total de 70 gravuras a talhe-doce representando
militares, praças-fortes, embarcações, armas ligeiras e pesadas, máquinas de guerra, etc. Exemplar
com acidez, por vezes forte, mas completo e sólido, revestido de encadernações da época, inteiras

Gabriel Daniel (1649-1728), a French Jesuit and historian, a native of Rouen, with a vast active
bibliography of religious and philosophical themes (anti-Jansenism), achieved his greatest literary
success in the present Histoire de la Milice Françoise, represented here in his Second edition (the
first dates from 1721), as well as in his Histoire de France (1713), which edition of 1755-60 would
be enlarged to 17 volumes. The collation of each of the volumes is as follows: I - [32], 448 p .: 48
grav .; II - [16], 552 p .: 22 grav. It includes, therefore, a total of 70 intaglio engravings
representing military, strongholds, boats, light and heavy weapons, war machines, etc. A copy
with some acidity, sometimes strong, but full and solid, covered with entire calf bindings of the
